- General overview of sea ice, sea ice types and monitoring using remote sensing
- Focus on land fast ice, SAR imagery and detection of movement
- Outline key uncertainties especially relating to remote sensing and snow cover on sea ice
2. Vishnu Nandan
- Scattering properties of snow and sea ice
- Relation of radar retrievals to physical snow properties (and uncertainties)
- Sea ice physical sampling and field methods

- Motivation to study sea ice thickness
- Satellite altimetry methods for thickness estimates
- Insights on radar interaction with snow-covered sea ice from MOSAiC and previous field campaigns
