During this class, students learn more about theories of migration - that is, why people migrate - that developed from 1900s to today. Beyond neoclassical economics theories, they learn about critical approaches to migration theories, but also institutional and social transformations theories. At the end of the class, the students understand what were the interests of theory makers, depending on different periods of time, the theories they have elaborated, and the shortcomings of each one of them. Examples are also provided.
